报告题目:Survival of circumbinary disc around merging BHs

摘 要:After the EM detection of the LIGO NS-NS merger event, one remaining open question is, whether or not we can observe EM signal for a BH-BH merger. It was widely considered to be intrinsically impossible, because most of the gases around the two BHs will be accreted (over a cosmological time) before the coalescence. We in this work provide a natural physical mechanism to halt the accretion of those circumbinary gases, which supports the idea proposed in de Mink & King (2017). With this mechanism, most of the pre-existing gases will remain outside of the two BHs, forming a decreation disk with a large fraction of gases cold enough to be MRI-inactive (so-called dead zone). Such disk will then provide feeding fuel for the BH after coalescence. An EM signal is then expected.
